Perfect Voting System purchases demo software

Indian Harbour Beach, FL May 16, 2007.  David Biddulph, Inventor “Perfect Voting System”, engaged the professional services of Advanta Technologies to develop software to demonstrate his concepts for improving the voting system using inexpensive computing equipment to provide trustworthy voting - with a paper trail.  This software produces a ballot-on-demand that includes the exact races that a specific voter is allowed to cast a vote.  After the voter has marked his or her preferences on the selection ballot, the ballot is scanned using a Kodak document scanner and the voter's choices are determined from the scanned image.  An official ballot is then printed that summarizes how the ballot will be recorded (such as "Charlie Crist for Governor"). Other features of the Perfect voting System are described at www.PerfectVotingSystem.com.

This demo software will be developed using Microsoft Visual Studio.NET and Microsoft SQL Server 2005.  Barcode software components from AllMyPapers.com will be used to read barcodes from scanned images that are used to identify the races contained on each ballot.  Optical mark recognition software from Mitek Systems will be used to process the scanned ballots.

Public Defender's Office implements custom barcode indexing

Indian Harbour Beach, FL December, 2006.  The Public Defender's Office - 8th Judicial Circuit of Florida - purchased the software and services needed to implement custom document indexing using bar-coded index sheets.  A staff member can create an index sheet by entering a case number.  The case number is used to determine the client name and appointment date.  This information is associated with the printed index sheet.  When the case file is scanned and presented for indexing, the indexing process is automated.

Bar-coded index sheets will be used in Gainesville, as well as the remote offices in Bronson, MacClenny and Starke.  These remote offices will transfer case files to the OurLibrary server at the headquarters facility in Gainesville, Florida.

The primary benefit of this barcode indexing is improved accuracy.  Errors are substantially reduced when the index values are obtained from a database table and are not subject to keyboard errors and inconsistent names.
